Multiple agencies responded yesterday morning to a multi‑vehicle crash on Highway 85 that involved two passenger vehicles and a road grader.
The call came in at 11:57 a.m. Truck 4 was already in the area arrived within two minutes, with firefighters immediately checking on potential patients. Engine 1 and Rescue 3 also responded, assisting with traffic control as crews worked the scene.
Authorities reported minor injuries, with one person transported to Monument Health for treatment.
Assisting agencies included the Deadwood Police Department, Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, South Dakota Commission on Gaming, South Dakota Highway Patrol, and Monument Health Ambulance. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
