South Dakota legislators were updated on revenues for the coming budget year.
Governor Rhoden is already considering changes in his proposed budget to reflect a stronger than expected month in January.
Legislative Research Council Fiscal Chief Jeff Mehlhaff told legislators there’s another positive factor to consider on expected revenues…related to this year’s income tax filing season…
Mehlhaff says that extra money will translate into 10.3-million dollars for the state’s General Fund.
The Appropriations Committee has to establish its revenue target by today.
Then, it will begin finalizing the expense side of the budget for the coming fiscal year.
