Based on new revenue projections, SD Gov. Larry Rhoden this morning (Thursday, Feb. 12) revised his budget proposal for the so-called ‘big three’ — schools, healthcare providers and state employees…
The governor said increasing funding equally for the big three is fair…
The state Joint Committee on Appropriations has adopted official revenue estimates for both this year and next year — one-time revenues for this year are $17 milliion above estimate, and on-going revenue estimates for next year have increased by $30 million.
Rhoden said he has no new recommendations for the current year’s budget…
Back in December, Rhoden had proposed a zero-percent funding increase for the big three. Last year, the big three received a one-point-two-five percent increase.
