Governor Larry Rhoden signed 12 bills into law Friday, including three open‑government measures introduced by Attorney General Marty Jackley. Rhoden said the legislation strengthens transparency and ensures timely public access to government information.
The three open‑government bills include:
- SB 46 – updates open meeting agenda requirements and adds penalties for violations.
- SB 47 – revises rules for executive sessions and closed meetings.
- SB 48 – requires meeting agendas to be posted online at least 72 hours in advance.
Jackley said the bills reinforce government transparency and credited the Governor, lawmakers, media, and the Open Government Task Force for their support.
Rhoden also signed nine additional bills, covering topics from motor carrier regulation updates and court record fees to repair‑title procedures and background checks for multistate social work licensure.
So far this session, the Governor has signed 35 bills and issued one veto.
