The Grey Rocks Fire south of Custer is now 100% contained, according to local fire officials. The wildfire started Sunday afternoon near the Custer County Airport and burned 58 acres of grass and timber.
Crews remained on scene to mop up hot spots inside the fire line. The response included the Custer Volunteer Fire Department, South Dakota Wildland Fire, and federal partners.
No injuries or structure losses have been reported, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
