A Pennington County jury has convicted three people for the Aug. 20, 2022 double homicide that killed 29‑year‑old Joseph Standing Bear of Norris and 37‑year‑old Petan Milk of Rapid City.
Attorney General Marty Jackley and Pennington County State’s Attorney Lara Roetzel announced the verdicts Tuesday after a two‑week trial.
Montell Olivera, 29, identified as the gunman, was found guilty of two counts of first‑degree murder and conspiracy to commit first‑degree murder.
Dillon Wilson, 22, and Erin Provancial, 45, were each convicted of two counts of aiding and abetting first‑degree murder and conspiracy.
All convictions carry mandatory life sentences; sentencing dates have not been set.
Eight people were charged in connection with the case. Two juveniles are being handled in the juvenile system.
