Rapid City set a new record high temperature Wednesday of 81 degrees recorded at Rapid City Regional Airport.
According to the National Weather Service, the high surpassed the previous record of 78 degrees, set in 2012.
On Monday the airport tied the record low temperature for the date with a reading of -2 tying the mark set in 1943.
Forecasters say the unusually warm conditions are expected to remain in the low to mid 80’s through Saturday before a system moves in Saturday night brining a slight chance of showers and highs in the mid 50’s by Sunday.
