A multi‑agency search is underway near Cottonwood Springs Dam as authorities look for a missing hiker reported overdue Sunday night.
The Fall River County Sheriff’s Office says family members contacted law enforcement after they had not heard from 34‑year‑old Brock Reid for more than eight hours. Knowing he frequently visited the Cottonwood Springs area, the family went to check the site and found his vehicle parked in the lot with his phone still inside. They then called 911.
Deputies conducted a preliminary search of the area overnight but were unable to locate Reid. A larger, coordinated search effort began Monday morning and remains active.
Reid is described as 6 feet tall, about 150 pounds, with blue eyes and currently clean‑shaven. Authorities say he is familiar with the terrain and is believed to be dressed appropriately for the weather, though no clothing description is available.
