Governor Larry Rhoden signed five bills Friday aimed at strengthening agriculture and supporting rural communities across South Dakota.
- HB 1048, appropriates funding for the expansion of broadband infrastructure in rural areas.
- SB 131, revises the timeframe during which a nonprofit organization may host a special pheasant hunt for disabled veterans and Purple Heart recipients;
- SB 231, establishes the Water Infrastructure Development Fund, provides an appropriation, authorizes grants and loans for certain rural water projects, and declares an emergency;
- HB 1254, exempts soil amendments used exclusively for agricultural purposes from sales tax; and
- HB 1263, updates the definition of an agricultural equipment dealer by removing an existing exclusion.
Governor Rhoden has signed 239 bills into law and vetoed two. There are no remaining bills awaiting action by the Governor.
