A missing person was located safely Thursday morning following a large search effort near the Creek Cave Trailhead off Nemo Road.
According to the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the area at approximately 6:45 a.m. on April 2, 2025, to assist in locating the individual. Multiple first responders conducted an active ground search, aided by a K9 team and a drone.
The person was found and confirmed to be safe. No further details were released.
Several agencies assisted in the search, including Pennington County Search and Rescue, the Rapid City Fire Department, Doty Volunteer Fire Department, Johnson Siding Volunteer Fire Department, and Lawrence County Search and Rescue.
Officials credited the coordinated effort of the responding agencies for the successful outcome.
