A late-night traffic stop in Rapid City on Monday resulted in two arrests, including one on drug charges, according to police.
At about 10:40 p.m., Rapid City police observed a pickup truck with a windshield violation and initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of MacArthur Street and Haines Avenue. The driver was identified as 56-year-old Erin Engelien of Rapid City.
Officers determined Engelien’s driver’s license had been revoked and that he was on parole. Police were also informed that two female passengers in the vehicle were in possession of marijuana. Both passengers were asked to exit the vehicle.
One of the passengers, identified as 31-year-old Sherona Cedarface of Rapid City, was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and related drug paraphernalia. She was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Engelien was arrested on a parole hold, driving under revocation, and the windshield violation. Both were transported for further processing.
