Rapid City police were busy Tuesday responding to 3 separate incidents..
Tuesday afternoon around 4:40 p.m., police responded to several reports of a vehicle driving dangerously and colliding with other cars near Rushmore Crossing. Witnesses provided a license plate number, helping authorities identify the suspect vehicle as a Buick LeSabre.
The car was later found in Box Elder by the Box Elder Police Department. Officers contacted the registered owner, who confirmed the vehicle had been taken without permission. The suspect was identified as 35-year-old Trent Richardblakey of Rapid City.
When police located Richardblakey, he was found in possession of the stolen Buick and actively huffing air duster. He was taken into custody and charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, and Reckless Driving.
Tuesday evening just before 7pm police responded to a call about an unwanted individual at 35 Omaha Street. Witnesses reported a shirtless man attempting to start fights and threatening to hurl rocks at bystanders.
Officers located the suspect across the street and identified him as 47-year-old David Lonewolf of Rapid City. During a search, police discovered he was carrying an open container of alcohol.
Lonewolf was arrested on charges of Failure to Vacate and Possession of an Open Container in Public. While being transported to the Pennington County Jail, he allegedly made threats toward the officer escorting him, resulting in an additional charge of Threatening Law Enforcement.
Around 8pm the same evening, police were dispatched to 518 Main Street for a report of a stolen vehicle. On arrival, police made contact with the reporting party who stated they had parked their Jeep SUV before leaving it unattended and then returning to find it gone. They told police the vehicle was left with the key fob inside, along with a loaded handgun amongst other property belonging to the reporting party. Police are reviewing security footage from the area and continue to investigate the incident.
