The South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT) has released traffic data showing a significant increase in vehicle entries for the 85th Annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, which runs from August 1–10, 2025.
Over the first five days of the rally, a total of 311,764 vehicles entered Sturgis through nine monitored locations—an 11% increase compared to the five-year average of 280,769 vehicles for the same period.
Tuesday’s traffic saw it’s 2nd largest day with just under 64,000 vehicles which is 13% above the 5 year average Rally week Tuesdays.
Sturgis traffic numbers are one of many metrics used to measure the number of people who attend the annual event. The DOT will provide daily updates throughout the rally.
