Attorney General Marty Jackley announced South Dakota’s participation in the National Operation Robocall Roundup, which issued warnings to 37 telecom companies accused of routing illegal robocalls. These companies failed to comply with FCC rules, register in the Robocall Mitigation Database, or submit plans to reduce robocalls—profiting instead from unlawful traffic.
South Dakota is also part of the Anti-Robocall Litigation Task Force, a multistate effort launched in 2022 to fight robocalls nationwide.
“Robocalls are a daily nuisance,” said Jackley. “We’re holding telecom companies accountable.”
The task force is notifying 99 downstream providers that do business with the flagged companies. Meanwhile, the FCC will remove seven violators from its database, effectively cutting off their ability to route calls through other networks.
