RAPID CITY, S.D. — Gas prices continue to rise across South Dakota, with the statewide average for regular unleaded gasoline reaching $4.02 per gallon as of July 27, according to AAA. The national average stands at $4.11 per gallon.
In the Rapid City area, drivers are paying an average of about $4.20 per gallon for regular unleaded fuel, 27 cents higher than a week ago and $1.13 higher than one year ago.
Diesel prices statewide are averaging $4.91 per gallon, a nearly 30 cent increase in the last week and just over $1.50 per gallon more than on this date in 2025.
