RAPID CITY, S.D. — The Rapid City Public Library is partnering with a Meadowbrook Elementary kindergarten teacher to help families and future students get ready for their first day of school through a new kindergarten readiness program.
Grace Jundt will lead the program featuring storybook readings, school-themed crafts and activities for children, along with practical guidance for parents on how to support a successful transition into kindergarten.
Young participants can earn badges by completing each session, encouraging engagement while helping them become more comfortable with the classroom environment and school routines.
Library officials say the program is designed to build excitement about starting school while giving families tools and resources to prepare for the important milestone.
The next session is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 1 in the library’s community room. Families with children entering kindergarten are encouraged to attend.
