RAPID CITY, S.D. — A Rapid City man has been sentenced to more than eight years in federal prison after admitting to receiving child pornography through online platforms.
Parker Behrns, 27, was sentenced in federal court for receiving sexually explicit images and videos involving minors. According to court information, Behrns used the messaging and social media platform Discord between 2022 and 2024 while posing as a young girl to interact with underage users.
Investigators found that Behrns used his cellphone to access the platform and collect illegal images and videos depicting minors. Discord is widely used by gamers and online communities, including many younger users.
The federal sentence requires Behrns to serve more than eight years in prison. Following his release, he will be subject to five years of supervised release under court-ordered conditions.
