South Dakota continued to post some of the strongest employment figures in the nation. The state recorded 182 new unemployment claims during the reporting period and maintained an insured unemployment rate of just 0.3%, tying it among the lowest rates in the country.
Nationwide, approximately 1.78 million people were receiving unemployment benefits, a decrease of 7,000 from the previous week, indicating continued stability in the labor market despite the modest rise in new claims.
