FAIRBURN, S.D. — Firefighters responded to a wildfire yesterday approximately 3.3 miles west of Fairburn that has burned an estimated 22 acres.
According to officials, the fire’s forward progress was stopped, and crews continued working in the area. No evacuations were ordered, and no road closures were in place, and no damage to structures.
Authorities are asking the public to avoid the area to allow firefighters to safely conduct suppression and containment efforts.
The cause of the fire has not been released.
