SCENIC, S.D. – An 18-year-old Wall woman died Monday in a single-vehicle rollover crash near Scenic in Pennington County.
According to preliminary information, the woman was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Impala northbound on Bombing Range Road when the vehicle left the roadway. She attempted to correct, lost control, and the vehicle rolled.
The driver sustained fatal injuries. A 19-year-old male passenger from Pierre suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a Rapid City hospital.
Authorities reported neither occupant was wearing a seat belt. Their names have not been released pending notification of family members.
The crash remains under investigation, and all information released is preliminary.
