Rapid City police conducted a targeted overnight operation at 225 E. Watertown Street, responding to 16 calls—13 of which were proactive—between Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning.
Four arrests were made:
- Jasmine Cruz, 20, and Wiconi Standing Elk, 25, were arrested on outstanding warrants.
- Alannah Ashley, 31, was arrested for trespassing and possession of meth after returning to a vacant apartment she’d been warned to leave.
- A 20-year-old woman was arrested for Simple Assault following a second disturbance call.
Meanwhile, the property management company, Tzadik Property Management released the following statement:
We are deeply saddened by the tragic incident that occurred at Oxford Square Apartments late Monday night. Our heartfelt thoughts and condolences go out to the family and loved ones of the victim during this difficult time.
Tzadik Property Management is cooperating fully with law enforcement as they investigate this incident. The safety and security of our residents remain our highest priority. For several months, we have been working closely with local law enforcement and our on-site management team to increase security and remove disruptive tenants, and we will continue these efforts with urgency and commitment.
Statements made by the Rapid City Police Department implying that Tzadik is to blame are both callous and inaccurate, failing to recognize the numerous steps already taken to protect our residents. We remain committed to continuing these efforts and ensuring the safety of all who live in our communities.
Police plan to maintain a strong presence at the complex as property management works to implement private security and on-site oversight.
