RAPID CITY, S.D. — Rapid City police have arrested two suspects in connection with gunfire reported Sunday morning in the Skyline Drive area.
According to police, Wicapiiyoyinpa Richards, 20, and Miranda Marks, 29, both of Rapid City, were taken into custody following an investigation into the incident. Officers executed a search warrant at a residence in the 1900 block of Twin Elms Drive, where they recovered the handgun believed to have been used in the shooting.
Both suspects were arrested on charges of reckless discharge of a firearm and possession of a loaded firearm while intoxicated. Authorities said additional charges may be filed as the investigation continues.
The incident occurred around 6:30 a.m. Sunday near the Stonewall Overlook on Skyline Drive. Police reviewed surveillance footage that allegedly showed two individuals firing a handgun in the direction of a residential neighborhood west of the overlook. No injuries or property damage have been reported.
