Authorities have identified the individuals involved in a fatal two-vehicle crash that occurred 15 miles northwest of Union Center. According to the South Dakota Highway Patrol, Sharon Frances Herron, an 83-year-old from Union Center, was driving a 2020 Honda Civic eastbound on the one-lane gravel road when it crested a hill and collided head-on with a westbound 2002 Ford F-350 driven by 19-year-old Emma Jean Radabaugh of Enning. Herron suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. Whether she was wearing a seat belt remains under investigation. Radabaugh, who was wearing a seat belt, sustained minor injuries. The South Dakota Highway Patrol continues to investigate, and all information remains preliminary.
