Elevate Rapid City leaders provided insights into the city’s housing market at a recent event, emphasizing the need to align supply with rising demand to stabilize prices and availability.
Held at the new downtown Hyatt Place hotel, the Rapid City Housing Update convened construction and public policy experts to address challenges from the population surge in the early 2020s. Public Policy Director Garth Wadsworth underscored the importance of diverse housing options, including single-family homes and rentals, to enhance affordability. He noted that expanding rental options is key to improving affordability, alongside maintaining a strong supply of owner-occupied homes.
