RAPID CITY, S.D. — Rapid City Regional Airport recorded its busiest month on record in July, welcoming more than 114,000 passengers and surpassing last year’s total by four percent.
Airport officials said the number of passengers boarding flights increased by more than five percent compared to July 2025, while arriving passengers rose by approximately three percent. The airport also averaged 56 arriving or departing flights each day during the month.
The airport is also seeing gradual growth in international travel. Officials said efforts are underway to rebuild interest from key overseas markets, including Canada and Europe, which have been slower to recover in recent years.
In addition, Delta Air Lines’ non-stop service between Rapid City and Atlanta has helped boost interest from travelers on the East Coast, providing more convenient access to the Black Hills and surrounding attractions.
