RAPID CITY, S.D. – Rapid City officials are encouraging residents to help shape how federal community development funds will be spent in the coming years.
A public meeting is scheduled for September 3 to gather community input on housing needs, public infrastructure improvements, and other potential projects. The feedback will be used to help develop the city’s Fiscal Year 2027 Annual Action Plan and establish priorities for the use of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding.
City officials say resident participation is an important part of the planning process, ensuring federal funds are directed toward projects that best meet local needs.
Those unable to attend the meeting may also submit comments in writing by email or mail.
The Community Development Block Grant program provides federal funding for a variety of community improvement projects, including housing, public facilities, neighborhood revitalization, and services that benefit low- and moderate-income residents.
