RAPID CITY, S.D. – A Rapid City Area School District bus ended up in a ditch along Moon Meadows on Wednesday while drivers were practicing routes ahead of the start of the school year.
No students were on board, and the district says the incident occurred during a training run designed to help drivers become familiar with their routes before classes begin.
In a statement posted on Facebook, the district said the driver backed up farther than intended during practice.
The district encouraged residents to support drivers as they continue preparing for the upcoming school year.
