MEADE COUNTY, S.D. — The Meade County Sheriff’s Office says it is actively investigating an incident involving security personnel and several patrons at the Buffalo Chip Campground during an August 15 concert.
Authorities say investigators have reviewed numerous social media posts, videos, photographs, and other information related to the incident, along with reports of additional alleged incidents at the campground.
The Sheriff’s Office says the security personnel involved have been identified, and investigators are continuing to gather evidence and interview witnesses.
In a statement, officials acknowledged the significant public attention surrounding the case and emphasized that while social media may provide valuable information, any determination of criminal conduct will be based on a full investigation and applicable law.
Because the case remains active, the Sheriff’s Office is not releasing additional details at this time. Anyone with firsthand information, photos, or video who has not yet spoken with law enforcement is encouraged to contact the Meade County Sheriff’s Office.
