The annual entrance licenses for South Dakota’s state parks and recreation areas are now on sale, offering access to more than 60 scenic destinations across the state. Valid through May 23, 2027, the license costs $40 for a single vehicle or $60 for two. Camping fees are not included.
“South Dakota State Parks have been connecting people to the outdoors for generations,” according to State Parks Director Jeff VanMeeteren who added, “We offer year-round options—from campsites and cabins to modern lodging—for families and friends to create lasting memories.”
In 2026, parks will also participate in the America 250 initiative, celebrating the nation’s 250th birthday by honoring both historical milestones and personal outdoor experiences.
Licenses can be purchased online at campsd.com, at state park offices, or by calling 1-800-710-2267.
