Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem returned to South Dakota yesterday to preside over a naturalization ceremony held beneath the Mount Rushmore memorial.
Seventy-two individuals representing 34 nations took the final step in their journey to become American citizens.
The ceremony was attended by U.S. Congressman Dusty Johnson, South Dakota Governor Larry Rhoden, and Secretary Noem.
Secretary Noem encouraged the new citizens to embrace their future with confidence and pride.
