Rapid City Police have arrested two individuals following a series of events that began with gunfire and ended in a high-speed chase and multiple charges.
Saturday at approximately 2:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to 3737 Sturgis Road after receiving reports of multiple gunshots in the area. Witnesses initially believed the shots were fired at another party during a dispute, but investigators later determined the firearm was discharged into the air. Several shell casings were recovered at the scene, and no injuries were reported.
Police identified 21-year-old Antwon Long Visitor as the shooter. He was arrested and charged with 11 counts of Reckless Discharge of a Firearm.
The investigation also led authorities to a black pickup truck linked to the gunfire incident. That same vehicle was reportedly involved in a theft of ammunition at 1001 E. Mall Drive. When officers attempted to stop the truck, the driver fled, prompting a pursuit that ended in the 700 block of E. Anamosa Street.
The driver, 22-year-old Kaege Snyder, was taken into custody and faces multiple charges including Driving Under Suspension, First-Degree Eluding, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, No Proof of Insurance, Obstruction, and several active warrants. Several other individuals were detained from the vehicle.
The Rapid City Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division continues to investigate the incident. Authorities have not ruled out additional charges as the case develops.
