This Saturday, the Rapid City Police Department and Pennington County Sheriff’s Office are teaming up with the Drug Enforcement Administration for National Drug Takeback Day, giving residents a secure and easy way to dispose of unused or expired medications.
Part of a nationwide push to prevent drug misuse, the event encourages proper disposal of prescription and over-the-counter drugs—helping to protect both public health and the environment by keeping medications out of landfills and waterways.
Community members can drop off their unwanted medications between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. at the Public Safety Building, located at 300 Kansas City Street in Rapid City.
