The Department of Tribal Relations will host the 8th annual State-Tribal Opioid and Methamphetamine Summit on November 6–7 in Pierre, South Dakota. The free event will bring together tribal, state, and local leaders, law enforcement, and treatment providers to address drug trends, share recovery stories, and strengthen community health and safety.
Highlights will include testimony from individuals in recovery and presentations from tribal law enforcement, state agencies, and federal partners. Secretary Algin Young emphasized the impact of hearing lived experiences, saying they offer valuable insights that attendees can take back to their communities.
The summit is free to attend, and all treatment providers, tribal and state leaders, and law enforcement officials are encouraged to participate.
