Cancel culture is making a comeback, unfortunately.
In case you missed it, Good Good Golf has been dragged by the golf establishment for an advertisement they posted in collaboration with Callaway golf, which promoted the Quantum Max Driver with Good Good branding. The ad features many of Good Good’s top personalities, including co-founder Garrett Clark, who is seen shoving a woman before she’s able to get a hold of the driver in his bag. He stands over her as she lays on the ground and tells her not to touch his driver.
Reading this makes it sound bad, and watching it is “cringe,” as Clark stated, while apologizing in a lengthy Instagram post following the backlash. The advertisement was done and presented in poor taste and the public didn’t receive it well. Even though it was meant to take inspiration from the hit horror movie “Obsession,” as Clark stated in his instagram video, where a character becomes obsessed with another due to a magic spell, causing them to be insanely and violently overprotective, it was not perceived that way. Many viewers missed the point and it fell flat, to say the least. But, what has been done in the aftermath since the deleted post, is what is unjust and concerning to me.
This whole situation has turned into a way for companies to virtue signal about domestic violence and supporting women, though most, if not all of these companies have done nothing to protect women and girls as their sports and spaces have been invaded by males over the years. Clark, in a 9-minute long video said neither him, nor the company, support or meant to insinuate any form of domestic violence. It was clearly a skit, but retail companies and even the PGA Tour are actively cancelling the popular YouTube golf brand, making them the fall guy for an ad that Callaway is just as responsible for, in my opinion.

Golf Galaxy, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Target, and the PGA Superstore have pulled Good Good products from their shelves and online. Golf Channel cancelled the latest season of the reality show in collaboration with Good Good, “Big Break.” Good Good announced Thursday the cancelation of their title sponsorship for the PGA Tour event, the Good Good Championship in Texas saying, “After thoughtful discussion with the PGA Tour and careful reflection, we have decided to step away as sponsor of the Tour event in Austin this Fall.” Callaway also ended their partnership with the popular golf brand stating, “we have listened and reflected deeply on the hurt and disappointment caused by the video we reposted. We heard from individuals who shared personal experiences related to violence against women, and their stories were powerful reminders that this issue touches the lives of far too many people. Unequivocally, violence against women is unacceptable and should never be trivialized, normalized, or used as entertainment.” Yes, violence and mistreatment of women should be called out and women and girls should be protected, but these decisions and statements are just pure, unadulterated corporate virtue signaling.

Here’s the worst part:
Has Callaway’s merch been pulled from stores? Nope.
Has Callaway dealt with any reprecussions from the PGA Tour? Nope.
That is exactly what Good Good Golf CEO, Matt Kendrick called out early this morning in a post on X stating, “Interesting that @CallawayGolf asks us to make an ad then approves it then asks us to take the fall then drops us in a coordinated media blitz and covers it up by giving a million dollars away thinking everyone will be ok with it.”
Bingo.
In other words, Good Good is the bad guy, and Callaway gets to virtue signal their way into receiving no backlash from the golf establishment and media because they’re donating $1 million “to support organizations working to prevent violence against women, provide resources to survivors, and advance education and awareness efforts.” Good grief. Get off your high horse, Callaway.
This is clear and obvious cancel culture.

Cancel culture is an unjustified public shaming and social ostracism for a perceived wrong, mostly due to something liberals consider not politically correct under their ridiculous societal standards. It’s not an actual wrong, worthy of relentless public shaming and corporate canceling.
When I told people publicly to avoid shopping and supporting Bud Light, Target, Ulta and others promoting transgenderism through kids clothing, “tuck-friendly” swimwear, a man pretending to be a woman telling women how to be women (Dylan Mulvaney), that is not cancel culture. That’s an objective moral wrong. Companies promoting body mutilation through “gender affirming care”, gender fluidity, and more nonsense, is worth boycotting.
The Bud Light boycott was the most successful boycott in recent history after they partnered with Mulvaney to celebrate “one year of womanhood.” It was a justified boycott. Anyone comparing Bud Light to this poorly-acted, dumb advertisement, which was obviously presented in poor taste, is being dishonest.
Cancel culture was Twitter banning and suspending accounts like The Babylon Bee, myself, Charlie Kirk, and many others years ago, for calling former Assistant Secretary for Health under the Biden administration, Rachel Levine and swimmer Lia Thomas, men.

What is being done to Good Good is cancel culture. It’s wrong.
Clark never actually shoved that woman, as he stated on Instagram. It was acting. Yes, poor acting and a very bad idea. I’ve stated online that I have no idea why they thought this way a good idea, especially in a culture ready and willing to overreact, but it was in no way a promotion or endorsement of domestic violence.
NIKE REMOVES RUNNING AD IN BOSTON FOR ‘PACE SHAMING’
I can relate to this in a real way because I was an actor in a video for my Christian college’s chapel program, where I played a version of the old Terry Tate: Office Linebacker Reebok commercial, where he tackled men and men throughout the office. I “tackled” and “shoved” men and women in the video. I even stood over a female chapel card monitor yelling at her for accepting a blank chapel attendance card from a student. It was clearly satire. It was a dumb, yet fun video. No women were harmed. No women were outraged. Thousands laughed when it was shown at a semester-end chapel. No one was canceled or was called to be canceled.
There have been many advertisements over the years with men tackling or shoving women. Betty White got trucked in a Snickers commercial playing football.
In an early 2000s commercial, Michelob Ultra portrayed a woman getting viciously tackled in a football game at a park. There was a clear understanding of satire and acting. It wasn’t real. It wasn’t a prescription for abusing women.
More than anything, there’s a clear double standard at play with the way Callaway is being treated by the PGA Tour, Golf Channel, and retailers.
Callaway saw this dumb advertisement in collaboration with Good Good Golf, signed off on it, published it, and they are going through the situation unscathed.
No, I’m not calling for Callaway to be canceled. Both should have just said the ad was dumb, apologized for how it was received, taking accountability for a lack of clear messaging, saying that it was a spin-off of Obessesion, and move on.
Instead, Good Good is faced with their products no longer in major retailers, pushed out of their title sponsorship for a PGA Tour event, and a public corporate shaming that is one of the worst in history. All because the PGA Tour and corporations want to make an example out of a group, so they can look morally superior. It’s shameful.
