The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating a hit-and-run incident that occurred Saturday night on North Elk Vale Road.
According to the agency’s report, an older red Ford pickup—believed to be from around the year 2000 and missing a headlight lens—was traveling northbound around 10 p.m. when it struck a 25-year-old woman walking along the roadside.
The pedestrian was taken to Monument Health with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
Authorities are asking anyone with information about the vehicle or the driver to come forward as the investigation continues.
