The South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT), in partnership with the South Dakota Highway Patrol and the National Weather Service (NWS), will host a Pre-Winter Travel Resource and Safety Webinar on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2025, from 10 to 11 a.m. CT via Zoom. The event is open to the public, media, and local and state agencies.
The webinar will feature the NWS’s 2025–2026 winter weather forecast, along with updates from SDDOT and Highway Patrol on winter maintenance operations, safety tips, and travel resources to help South Dakotans make informed decisions during severe weather.
The session will also highlight the newly installed Variable Speed Limit (VSL) system on Interstate 29 near Brookings, designed to improve safety during adverse winter conditions.
