RAPID CITY, S.D. – Former South Dakota State Representative Blaine “Chip” Campbell of Rapid City has died at the age of 86. Campbell served 21 years in the U.S. Air Force, including service in Vietnam, before retiring from the military in 1987.
After settling in Rapid City, he was elected to the South Dakota House of Representatives in 2013 and won reelection to two additional terms. Campbell is survived by his wife, Patricia, and son, Daniel.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Rapid City, with burial Friday at Black Hills National Cemetery.
