RAPID CITY, S.D. – The summer swimming season is coming to an end at Rapid City’s Jimmy Hilton Sioux Park Pool.
Rapid City Parks and Recreation officials say Sunday will be the final day for public swimming at the pool. Operating hours are 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday and noon to 7 p.m. Friday through Sunday.
The season will wrap up Monday with the 11th annual Wags & Waves event, hosted by the Humane Society of the Black Hills. The popular event gives dogs a chance to enjoy the pool from 1 to 4 p.m. before the water is drained for the season.
The Horace Mann and Parkview pools already closed on August 20.
Swimmers will still have another option after Sioux Park closes. The Roosevelt Swim Center’s outdoor 50-meter pool will remain open through September 26.
Parks officials encourage residents to take advantage of the final days of outdoor swimming before the season comes to a close.
