RAPID CITY, S.D. – The summer swim season has come to an end in Rapid City, with the city’s public pools closing Sunday.
Families visited the pools for a final day of swimming before the seasonal shutdown. City staff say hundreds of visits were recorded throughout the summer months.
At Sioux Park Pool, lifeguard Rita Brewer says the facility has remained a popular destination for families, especially those with younger children, thanks to its shallow depth and family-friendly features.
Brewer says one of her favorite parts of working each season is seeing children enjoy their summer and watching families spend time together at the pool.
City pools are expected to reopen next summer.
