RAPID CITY, S.D. – Pennington County residents needing birth, death, marriage, or other vital records will face a temporary service interruption next week.
The Pennington County Register of Deeds Office says it will stop issuing vital records from Monday, Sept. 14, through Wednesday, Sept. 16, as South Dakota transitions to a new statewide Vital Records system.
During that time, the county office on Concourse Drive in Rapid City will not be able to process or provide vital records.
Officials say anyone with an urgent need for a record during the three-day outage should contact the South Dakota Vital Records Office directly.
Normal vital records services are expected to resume on Thursday, Sept. 17.
