RAPID CITY, S.D. – Rapid City Parks and Recreation is inviting young swimmers to take a dive into fall fun next month.
The city’s fourth annual Pumpkin Plunge is scheduled for Saturday, October 17, from 11 a.m. to noon at the Roosevelt Swim Center.
The free event is open to children ages 2 through 13 and gives participants the chance to swim with floating pumpkins before picking one out to decorate. Decoration supplies will be provided.
Space is limited to 70 participants, and registration is required. City officials say the event fills up quickly each year.
Children under six must have an adult in the water within arm’s reach, and life jackets are required for participants.
Registration opened today and can be completed through the City of Rapid City’s online activity registration system. For more information, residents can contact the Parks and Recreation Department.
