STURGIS, S.D. – The Meade County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a missing 83-year-old man suffering from cognitive decline.
Authorities say Daniel Carda was last seen around 6:30 Sunday evening in the 5400 block of Meadow Retreat Road, traveling toward Erickson Ranch Road.
Multiple agencies, including the Black Hawk and Piedmont Volunteer Fire Departments, joined the search effort Sunday night as crews worked to locate Carda.
Officials say weather conditions prevented aircraft from being used during the search.
