EDGEMONT, S.D. – The owner of the Vivos xPoint survival bunker complex near Edgemont is facing a federal civil lawsuit accusing him of fraudulent business practices and racketeering.
The lawsuit alleges that California businessman Robert Vicino and several associated companies misused investor funds and failed to meet financial commitments tied to the Vivos xPoint bunker community in Fall River County.
According to court documents, a New Jersey investor claims he paid more than one million dollars into the project and leased a residential bunker, but alleges funds were diverted away from construction and infrastructure projects.
The lawsuit was filed under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, commonly known as RICO, a law often associated with cases involving organized criminal activity and financial fraud.
No criminal charges have been filed against Vicino, and the allegations remain unproven in court. The lawsuit seeks millions of dollars in damages as the case moves through the legal system.
