WHITE RIVER, S.D. – A woman has died from injuries she suffered in a vehicle-versus-pedestrian crash last week in White River.
According to the South Dakota Highway Patrol, the woman was walking south in the roadway on U.S. Highway 83 when she was struck by a southbound Dodge Ram pickup pulling a flatbed trailer.
Investigators say the driver attempted to brake and swerve after spotting the woman, but was unable to avoid the collision.
The woman was transported to a hospital in Rosebud, where she later died from her injuries on Thursday.
Authorities have not released the names of those involved pending notification of family members.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol says the crash remains under investigation.
