RAPID CITY, S.D. – Book lovers will have a chance to stock up on their next reads while supporting a good cause at the annual AAUW Rapid City Book Sale next month.
The event runs October 16th through the 18th at the Creative Arts Building on the Central States Fairgrounds. Organizers say proceeds from the sale help fund scholarships for young women from western South Dakota and provide support for local nonprofit organizations.
The sale begins with a special first-choice night on Friday, October 16th, featuring refreshments and a wine bar. Admission for that evening is ten dollars, while admission on Saturday and Sunday is free.
Community members can also donate books ahead of the event, with drop-off dates scheduled at the fairgrounds in October.
The Rapid City branch of AAUW has been supporting education and community programs for nearly a century, and organizers say the annual book sale has helped fund scholarships and grants for decades.
