RAPID CITY, S.D. – A water main break in Rapid City is affecting service to roughly 100 residences this afternoon.
City crews are working to repair the break near the intersection of Lacrosse Street and Omaha Street. Officials say about 50 homes and 50 apartment units have experienced water service disruptions.
The affected area includes portions of East New York Street, Racine Street, and East Chicago Street in the 400 and 500 blocks.
City officials expect repairs to be completed by this evening and say updates will be provided as they become available.
The water line break is also impacting traffic in the area. Northbound traffic on North Lacrosse Street has been reduced to a single lane near the repair site.
Drivers are urged to use caution, watch for crews, and reduce their speed while traveling through the area.
