RAPID CITY, S.D. – The West River Retired Senior Volunteer Program, or RSVP+, is asking the public to donate winter clothing items for veterans staying at the Cornerstone Mission in Rapid City.
The annual Make A Difference Day collection is seeking new socks, underwear, hats, gloves, and coats to help veterans prepare for colder weather. Donations will be accepted through October 28 at RSVP offices in Rapid City and Spearfish.
Last year’s drive collected more than 1,000 items for veterans in need. Organizers say every donation helps support local veterans and strengthens the community.
Make A Difference Day is observed each October nationally as a day dedicated to community service and volunteer efforts. Those interested in donating or arranging a pickup can contact West River RSVP+ for more information.
