PINE RIDGE, S.D. – Residents recovering from severe summer storms on the Pine Ridge Reservation can now receive in-person assistance through federal disaster recovery centers located in Pine Ridge, Manderson, and Oglala.
The U.S. Small Business Administration says staff at the centers can help residents learn about available disaster assistance programs, including low-interest loans for eligible homeowners, renters, businesses, and nonprofit organizations affected by the storms.
The temporary assistance centers are operating at locations in Pine Ridge and Manderson through Oct. 17, while the center in Oglala will continue offering services with regular weekday and Saturday hours.
In addition to in-person assistance, residents can apply for disaster aid online or contact the SBA directly for information about available recovery programs.
Officials say the centers are intended to help storm victims navigate the recovery process and access resources needed to rebuild and recover from storm-related damage.
