RAPID CITY, S.D. – Rapid City families are invited to celebrate Halloween and wrap up Red Ribbon Week with a free community skating event at the Roosevelt Park Ice Arena.
The annual “Spooky Skate” event will take place on Halloween from 1 to 3:15 p.m. at the ice arena on Waterloo Street.
The event will feature free admission, free skate rentals, pizza, games, a costume contest, and prizes, including ice-skating punch passes. Organizers say the event is designed to provide a fun and family-friendly way for local youth to celebrate Halloween.
City Recreation Specialist Erin Holmes says Spooky Skate is a great opportunity for kids to spend time with friends while taking part in a positive community activity.
The event is hosted by the Rapid City Optimist Club, Roosevelt Park Ice Arena, and Thrivent.
Red Ribbon Week is a national campaign focused on drug prevention and encouraging young people to make healthy choices. This year’s theme is “Make a Difference, Be a Hero, Stay Drug Free.”
