RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Rapid City Public Library welcomed dozens of families Saturday for its annual Halloween Story Time and Trick-or-Treat event.
Children dressed in costumes gathered in the library’s Youth Services area to hear Halloween-themed stories before making their way through the building to collect treats from stations staffed by costumed library employees. The event also featured a snack-making activity and a photo booth.
Library Events Coordinator Aly Quinn says the event provides a fun and safe opportunity for young children and families to celebrate Halloween, especially for those who may not be trick-or-treating later in the evening.
Library staff say community events like this also help introduce families to the programs, services, and resources available at the library throughout the year.
Looking ahead, the library will launch its winter reading program in December. The all-ages program will feature winter reading bingo, with participants eligible to win prizes by completing reading challenges.
